Best moments of the weekend away...
Jun. 13th, 2005 01:03 pmWell, if you've gotta visit relatives, take some mental snapshots... here are a few of mine:
1. Driving through the ethereal twilight of Karangahake Gorge, listening to Moby's "Hotel".
2. The reflected lights across Tauranga Harbour, still listening to Moby.
3. Walking out in the most gorgeous, still, warm, winter day on the farm; the sky so blue that clouds wouldn't dare enter the picture.
4. Being deliciously wicked with my hubby in the spa bath while sis & bro-in-law and their friends watched boring rugby in another room!
5. Spending only 2 hours with the mother-in-law! (as compared to staying at her place)
6. Watching the kids determinedly eat icecreams in the cold, grey air on the way home again.
7. Mind pictures of the RPG dancing in my head as I listened to Dan Fogelberg's "Hard to Say" on the Southern Motorway.
8. Finally pulling into our driveway after the four hour trip, and Wilma cat appearing within seconds to greet us!
This is joy! Gotta get something good out of an otherwise fairly blah trip!!!
On another note altogether... I just got my exercise for the week, putting the electric blankets and the winter duvet on the bed. Some of you might be close to heat exhaustion, but it's damn cold here now. I'm tired, but I shall be warm tonight!!! Maybe then I won't be up at 2am with insomnia like last night *mutter*. In the end I got up and went into the RPG as I couldn't shut my brain down!!! Spent 45 mins there, then scooted back to the hubby's side for some warmth, only to lie awake for *another* 2 hours!!! Dammit! Then the Little Fella (LF) came in at 6.30!!! BLOODY HELL! Who'd have kids? So, back to the RPG for me. Now I've had a decent fix (yes, withdrawal was bad over the weekend!), I can leave it alone til later tonight, if Hubby does his regular late night. Don't want to upset the lad too much... Then, "ER" is on too, so might have to forgo until tomorrow night. But that's okay...*deep breath*... I shall probably be too BLOODY tired to stay awake anyhoo.
Tumbled thoughts all on top of each other... can't quite get them organised, not to mention close them off to sleep before another one takes over - that's my problem these days. It's all this creativity flowing thru me, but not quite coming out coherently. Rave on, as usual.
Gotta go, LF needs lunch.
