haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (Christmas - pohutukawa)
The good news is that Christmas stuff is all pretty much on schedule or done, though now I realise I probably need to get something else for N2D as I've spent about $20 more on her brother and sister than I spent on her...

The bad news is I seem to have gotten way behind on LJ, haven't looked at Twitter in ages, and well, forget updating about the reno! Ha! I even managed to forget to take photos recently, though I put that to rights last night by taking a few. Have to make another video though as a few changes are evident since the last one. We now have a carport roof, the gib-stopping is done in the new rooms, and there are bi-fold doors out onto my deck (which is only half done). I've told one of the guys working here that my priority is the deck and the wall in the room which we're making smaller to make way for a hallway. I have N2D sleeping on a mattress in the lounge (living room) right now as her old room is too messy and full of furniture pushed into the middle. N1D's in the top bunk in LF's room, and there is stuff everywhere it shouldn't be around the house.

BUT! We have a Christmas tree (small, live one in a pot), it is decorated, and I have my peg-lights up holding the Christmas cards that have started arriving. [livejournal.com profile] agdhani, yours has arrived, thank you so much! Also, big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladywillin, whose card and gift arrived yesterday. I think I already mentioned [livejournal.com profile] msb66 and [livejournal.com profile] pippii, both of whom sent me cards and gifts which arrived last week. Thank you both again!

I hope you are all doing well! I'll catch up soon. *hugs*

snoopy-thanksgiving

To all my American friends! We may not celebrate it here, but I thought I'd just let you know that I'm thankful to have you in my lives. *hugs*

Enjoy your day, and think of me as I attend the world's most boring meeting for work, which is going to last all day. *yawn* Oh well, at least they give us lunch. It won't be turkey, but it had better be tasty. It's the only reason I'm going!
haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (johnny-forgot about that)
I think. Hmm. I seem to have rec'd two months extra paid time, and I can't see that there's a free giveaway unless it was something LJ was doing a while back and they've only just got to me? *scratches head* MOAG bites. Anyway, if it was one of you guys, thank you. I really appreciate it, because it's not easy to justify having the paid account when I should be saving every penny to help pay for house extensions AND a trip to Hawaii in four years time.
haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (bbt-insane)
Today I got a lovely anonymous gift on my info page! Thank you to whoever sent me the sunflower! It really brightened my day. *hugs you*

Other than that, I have a bit of a headache so I'm not thinking straight (the slasher in me is tempted to say 'when are you ever?'), so apologies if any of the comments I've just caught up on are not as coherent as they might be.

Still not writing...

1. Thanks for all the support on my original fic, those who've shown interest. Chapter One has been posted for those of you who missed it, and if you aren't on the locked list and would like to be, just let me know.

2. It's Leather Week at [livejournal.com profile] adventures_in and [livejournal.com profile] mrs_sean_bean is hosting. These are two very good things in themselves! Go, take a look and enjoy! It will be a lot of fun!

3. I just need to say thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kaige68 and [livejournal.com profile] kitty_trio. They know why.

Have a great day everyone! See you later! *hugs and waves*

So, court. Went okay, despite the setbacks. The quick version is that both claims were dismissed, which in simple terms means we both walk away and no-one pays anybody any extra money. Which is all I wanted, really - just to clear it up and move on. There's a bit more, but for now, I can feel relieved and go on with my life. Thank-you Mr Referee, you were very fair.

The rest of the waffle here )

Good news:

- My aunt rang tonight and she can babysit while Mr H and I go out to dinner this Saturday night coming! WOOHOO!

- [livejournal.com profile] gottalovev, I finally listened to the Colin James! AWESOME! He rocks, and I like his newer stuff as much as I liked the first album when I was in Canada! Thanks for reminding me how great he is!

- Thanks to everyone who offered me support and good vibes after my last post - I'm sure everything helped make today go a little bit better than it might have! *smooches* to you all!

- Heroes is about to start, I'm going to watch! Catch you guys later! *kisses again*

As I know a few people are interested, here is the link for the Taghairm Agency RPG, which [livejournal.com profile] seadragon68 has started up, and that I mentioned a while back as something I was getting involved with and bringing my (sort-of) EN character into. It's very small and not nearly as fast as EN, but we're enjoying ourselves! Come and read if you like!

Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] sindahise for allowing us to use the basic characters and ideas that she gave us in EN, although I would remind you that these are not quite the same characters, nor is this in any way a sequel.

I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to [livejournal.com profile] niceandfluffy once again, as it was her kind invitation to join the LJ and RPG world that got me into all this, and if not for her I wouldn't be spending so much time having all this fun! Jag, I'd follow you anywhere! (well, perhaps not off a cliff or anything completely daft like that...)

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] kitty_trio:

You Are a Fortune Cookie

You're a rather normal person, except that you have extraordinary luck in life.
People want to be around you (even when they're a little sick of you), in hopes of being lucky too!

I'm a fortune cookie? Since when do I have good luck, apart from being able to put my hand on just the right file first pop... which really doesn't count, you know. That's work, and work luck is like... peeing in the right place. No sweat.

In other news... the argument got resolved, we had mad passionate make-up sex, and I survived the rest of Friday (with many happenings) without falling asleep and causing accidents.

Okay... we did have mad passionate make-up sex too, but that was later, at home, not at 10am when we kissed and made up in the carpark at my work. That would have been a bit much, don't ya think? *grin*

The weekend's been okay too, though I haven't done much today, and now must leave to collect N1D from Guide camp.

Thanks for everyone who posted happy things and e-mailed me to cheer me up the other day. I love my flist, you are TOO cool! The usual suspects, mostly - and you all know who you are *kisses*
haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (babytiger)
[livejournal.com profile] kaige68 just made me this gorgeous BIKE LANE BITCH icon, and I adore it so much, thanks babe! (Even tho' it's a crap pic of me - I am at least wearing my lovely jaguar print shirt in it! Only you know how much the BLB makes me laugh!).

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

She also made me the lovely baby tiger one that's attached to this entry - it's my very own N2D in the pic!

It made me aware of how slack I was in acknowledging those of you with this talent. So, I thought it was time I paid tribute to some of the fine people who have either made me icons (I greatly admire your talent, thank you, since I'm hopeless at it!), or have let me use their own.

I'm sincerely sorry if I've used one of yours and not credited you, but you must know by now that I have the memory of a goldfish. Anyway, know that I am extremely grateful!

*applauds loudly and encourages others to join in*

Under the cut are a few examples of the fine craft given to me, and hopefully I've got the credits right! If not, please let me know!

pretty, pretty pictures )

I'm very tired, but that's what happens when you go to your daughters' Brownie and Pippin sleepover at an indoor playground! They got to sleep on the equipment, and we mothers slept under the merry-go-round. Was a good night actually! The kids went to bed around 10pm, and the mothers and leaders sat around chatting til 1am or so. Had a good laugh, learnt some interesting things (what a ladyhole is, for instance! Which led to discussions on manholes and assholes!), and would've slept fine if the damned Brownie leader hadn't decided she needed to turn on the merry-go-round at least twice in the night (which included bright lights), to aim for decapitation, I suspect! I did survive though.

Today is election day in NZ, and I did my duty. Hadn't fully decided who I was voting for until half an hour before we headed for the polling booth... so feel a little guilty that it was a bit semi-pathetic, but at least I read some pamphlets and thought about it for more than 5 minutes! (which is what I did when I voted once in the UK, just to do something interesting. That time, I picked the name that I most liked the sound of. Now tell me that's responsible!)

The kids and my Hubby are watching "The Lorax" as I type. Such a great Dr Seuss story: "I'm the Lorax, I speak for the trees". Would love an icon with that on! But I'm totally inept at making such things. (don't take it as a hint unless you are inclined that way!)

Special Thanks Department this week:

[livejournal.com profile] kaige68 - you KNOW why, but I'll tell you anyway: for our daily "Jeremy is..." exchanges. You give me a laugh, lift my spirits, and because we are twins from the Slash planet!

[livejournal.com profile] therosewilde - for allowing me to "witter on" when I was feeling bad, and for making me feel better. And for the delicious pics of Josh just when I needed them most!

[livejournal.com profile] niceandfluffy - because you put up with my desperate calls for help and give me good advice when I need it!

[livejournal.com profile] legomyarrow and [livejournal.com profile] daniko - for somehow managing to remain sane in the face of my paranoia.

[livejournal.com profile] the_staci - because she loves Tiger so much!

and as always, my ever-suffering Hubby for putting up with my ups and downs!

THANKS!
