haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (hamster-has spoken)
Like movies? TV? Novels? Music? Can you answer yes to all of these? You can? Is that enough questions?

Well, then, I have something for you! Please go check out [livejournal.com profile] t_h_e_hamster. It's a very small comm I'm running whereby all the members offer their own opinion on various movies and TV shows they've seen, novels they've read and music they've enjoyed. It's small and friendly - it won't clog your flist - and no deadlines! Just post a review when you feel like you have something to share. And, of course, come and read otherwise! Pimp it out to your friends if you like; the more the merrier! It's very slash friendly, but all other reviews are welcome too. It's a place to find things of interest, share your own recs (other than fanfic) and to enjoy the company of like-minded flisters. Please check out the latest review by my good friend [livejournal.com profile] gregoria44 about the movie Labyrinth for a fine example.

Here's that comm name again:

I have a bunch of icons over there in the user pics if anyone wants one, but does anyone have the skills to do a banner we can use for it? I'd love you for life if you did us one! (or might be convinced to write you a ficlet). Thanks, my friends - you may now return to your scheduled viewing! *passes the popcorn*

I run this silly bit of a comm. called [livejournal.com profile] t_h_e_hamster. Anyone remember it? Hmm, not likely, but there you have it. Anyway, I set it up ages ago to review movies, TV shows, books and music, but have been sadly neglectful of it. I keep thinking I should spend more time there and actually, you know, review stuff. I'm not what you call highly edumicated and I don't tend to make a lot of sense beyond the OMG!gaysquee thing a lot of the time, but I like movies, TV, books and music and I like to say: yes, I liked that or no I didn't. I also like recs from others, so...

I really want to think about posting there regularly and getting other odd-bods like myself to do it too. No major commitments or anything, and no indepth thinking required; just a place to pop up a few words of snything you think is worth mentioning.

So I made a poll over there for anyone to have a go at if you're the least bit interested. All very relaxed-like, so go have a look around if anything seems like your cup of tea, bearing in mind that I'm a slasher by nature and unlikely to spend much time noting anything non-slashy, which is not to say non-gayishness is not welcome. It just means if you are slanted that way, you may find it interesting in a mildly mild way, or you may not if you're not, so to speak.

Anyway. That is all. Have a lovely day!

I know I was going to start this years ago, but it never quite happened! It's not anything major and I really have no time for it, but I'm going to give a go at doing short reviews whenever I can. Naturally, it's swayed towards gay/slash, but other things are welcome too. I'm happy to have members who want to review stuff too, so go for it if you feel so inclined! All welcome, as long as we don't have fights starting over opinions. Opinions are exactly that: what you thought of it! Discussions welcome, but no wankery or flaming will be tolerated.

First review is up here: The Vintner's Luck. It's short, it's sweet and it's open for viewing!

Unfortunately, my computer's not doing so well *cries*.

It's being attended to by Dr Computer Guy from my work, so hopefully I'll be properly back online soon. In the meantime, I'm running in and out quickly from the office in between working, but I can't get too carried away so it's been a bit erratic. I did manage to post Chapter 2 of the orig fic for those who have access, so that was something, but I really can't catch up on too much flist stuff as unfortunately I'm paid to work while I'm here (life is sad like that).

Most other things are going okay though, and today is LOST day over here (in which Sawyer gets all hot and sweaty and shirtless and digs graves, according to the shorts *drools* which will more than make up for him not being on last week's episode at all - altho' Sayid did look rather fetching attached to that swingset...) so I think I'll make it through another day!

Hugs and stuff to all of you, and watch out for that Hamster thing, it'll happen soon, I'm sure! (been thinking about it a lot lately)>
