Watched 1/ Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and 2/ Cold Mountain

Comments following:

1/ What rollicking good fun! If I've seen it before, I forgot it fully! I know I've seen the other two Indy films and I remember bits of them well enough, so who knows? Continuity wasn't always spot on for this film, strangely, as I'd have thought Spielberg would have been more onto it. However, Harrison Ford's naked chest made up for it (Not too muscly, but not too thin either, just how I like 'em...) *tongue out*

2/ Jude Law looking very grubby for the most part - poor fella gets bashed around a fair bit. Renee Zellwegger stole the show, it's true. She deserved her award! Pretty good from me, considering I usually think she looks like she's consumed too many sour lemon drops... And the futility and horrors of war, very very very strong in this. Soppy cow that I am, I even had tears come to my eyes a couple of times!

I do believe that was Spielberg's plan, Blind 'em with the hero and they'll never notice the rest. Glad you enjoyed both movies, and I do believe you are supposed to cry at war movies regardless of your hormonal swings. ;)

Sorry I'm slow to reply to this, haven't been in LJ for a couple of days... must catch up!

Yeah, well, Spielberg knows how to tell a yarn, anyway! And yeah, must be the War movie thing... or maybe it was me being a mother, that baby episode got me!

So, how are ya anyway? Must check out my friends page...*goes to look*

Never saw Cold Mountain, I enjoy Renee, but could never get past her accent in the trailers. Funny how some things hit you huh? I don't think I could sit through 2 hours of that accent.

Spielberg I almost always enjoy. And I almost always cry. I might even have cried during Goonies.

Haven't posted since last weekend, need to come up with a good things list. *thinks*

Well, it's almost Friday for you so, have a very lovely weekend.

As you know Harrison is my #1 all time fave actor so I absolutely adore the Indiana Jones movies. Rumors are running amok there will be a 4th movie and I will be crazed!!!! Glad you enjoyed it. My least favorite of the trilogy still there were exellent moments least being when the blonde bimbo had to eat that icky food hehe.....
Cold Mountain was very depressing, I thought Renee was also excellent but the futility of war was such a downer. I actually watched this one Friday Movie Night that I host once a month and everyone was mopey afterwards haha....Not something I'd watch again. Hate when a main character bites the dust at the end too.

Yeah, I forgot you were into Harry! Hey, he had a nice chest back then!

Yeah to Cold Mountain. War movies can suck, but this was okay, but as we all agree, a bit depressing in the end. Hopefully more uplifting choices this coming weekend!
