Why I love Tuesday Afternoons.

haldoorWell, it wasn't too bad, it can certainly be worse, but my mind does tend to waver after about 11.30... and I promise I did manage quite a bit of work before the mush set in!
There, that feels better already, right?
12.03pm: Tell myself I do not need to go into e-mail again until after lunch. Resist urge - just.
12.07pm: One of the managers comes around with raspberry licorice rolls (choc inside) – YUM! He’s been here for a year as at today’s date. Turns out we’ve also been in this office building almost a year. Get distracted discussing whether to have an office party at the end of Sept to celebrate. Decide SAY should not remove any clothes this time if we do.
12.19pm: See something in work e-mail that appears to say “Poke Request”. Get excited at possible meanings. Eyes playing “gutter” tricks again. In fact, it says “Police Request” (common enough around here and not really very interesting). Calm down again, somewhat disappointed.
12.30pm: Lunch! Leftovers from yet another birthday morning tea await!
1pm: Back from lunch. Stomach bloated. God, I knew I shouldn’t have had that other piece of chocolate cake (God, it was delicious though!).
1.03pm: Hubby rings. Discuss tonight’s arrangements for children and his early finish (slightly different from usual). He won’t be in til 6.30ish (usually 4.30ish on Tuesdays) and the girls are doing after school activities til 5.30pm, which means I will get more online time than I sometimes do on Tues! YAY!
1.16pm: OM finally goes to lunch so I can check e-m again!
1.21pm: Only one new e-m *sigh*. Why was I getting over-excited? Goes to write more “in Movement 5” instead. (so much for work this afternoon, tho’ I am doing things in between these little asides, honest!)
1.31pm: Decide, after writing two paragraphs, that I really should do more work. Collect file and discover it’s a “return”, which means I’ve done half the work already and I only need to key details and write a letter and final notes (the easy part, even tho’ this one has a lot of keying), and it will still be counted as a full point for stats. YAY! I finally get a break. Incidentally, MMN showed me stats earlier and mine are finally rising. Think he’s impressed that I’m getting my act together. Just as well he’s not looking at me too hard today!
2.03pm: Midway through keying and am having serious problems keeping eyes open (keying is boring but must be accurate). Am actually thankful to be interrupted by someone asking me a stupid question. This is a first. Truly feel that I could go to sleep at any time. If I ever had any doubts, this proves I am diurnal. Thank God I’m only here for another half hour.
2.22pm: Finally finish keying one partner (does NOT say “Panther”, honestly, the word is “partner” for Christ’s sake!). Will do the other tomorrow as it’s not worth starting now. Start to pack up, and cannot resist checking e-mail once more as OM has already left and isn’t watching. 2.30pm: Time to go and get LF and deliver snacks to the girls so they can survive after school activities without killing each other on the way home at 5.30pm. Hope I don’t crash the car.
2.55pm: Arrive at school, having collected LF, to find the after-school thing only goes til 4.30. Damn. Kids come out at 3pm and N1D informs me she doesn't want to stay for the activities. Double-damn.
And such is life. But as it happened, it worked out. I got 20 mins to do an RPG post, and got all chores done before we collected N2D. Now, the fire is lit already and I must go feed the troops! N1D's turn on the comp anyway.
Tomorrow is another day!
