Blechhh! Help!

I have a virus on my computer that Norton can't seem to fix... it says it's a backdoor.trojan and I've tried all kinds of things via the Norton/Symantec site but can't seem to get rid of it. I'm so hopeless with all this stuff... *cries*

The file name is xlibgfl254.dll

Does anyone know if it's safe for me to just delete this file and whether that will make it go away? I'm signing out of here now in case I'm stuffing anything up, but I'll be checking in e-m at work tomorrow morning, so will get any messages then.

Will be watching "Brokeback Mountain" again instead of writing fic... *sigh*

Good luck with this babe, I really hate to hear you have a Trojan virus. Those are very nasty. There needs to be a Trojan Horse anti virus software you can use to rid yourself of it. You also might check out McAfee security, I use them for my pc and have been very happy with their service. *hugs*

Thanks, babe, I'll try them if my work computer guy can't help. I'm reluctant to buy anything online to solve the problem, of course, as right now when I have this virus is when my security is down *sigh*

he he! I love that icon too and it's useful in many situations! :) I used to have a great "no they didn't!!" with Simon Tam... but I didn't use it as much, so I dumped it. let me check....
