Since everyone's doing it!

I write like
Stephen King

I tried a few different snippets and got this three times, so let's go with it. My gayest bit had me as Raymond Chandler though; what's with that? I wonder about the Stephen King though too... none of it was horror! ;-P

Not only is everyone doing it, everyone seems to be getting (at least once) Stephen King... :D

Join the ranks!

Yeah! It's funny how this works, but like all of these quizzes, I'll take it with a grain of salt! Who got Enid Blyton; anyone? ;-P

Was Enid Blyton an option? OMG, that's awesome, LOL!

No, not that I'm aware of (especially since this is probably American and most of them probably don't know who she was!); I was just wondering if there were any other female writers represented!

You, too! I got Stephen King on one of my most romantic fics, and HP Lovecraft on the other! Mostly I got Chuck Palahniuk, though (Fight Club).

I'm curious as to their algorithm. I'm guessing something about sentence length; I don't what else, though. It's certainly not subject matter!

Ha! I have no idea, but I'd just like to see someone come up with a female writer... we all seem to be getting men (apart from Agatha Christie somewhere that I saw)! Maybe I should try writing more Scarlett O'Hara lines! ;-)

I did get Margaret Atwood on a crackfic. o.0 So maybe two women writers. Apparently no writers of color that anyone's gotten. :-/

Your icon is so perfect!

Probably some white middle-class guy who set it up...

And isn't it a great icon! [livejournal.com profile] alliecat8 made it from the lyrics of a Jimmy Buffett song - it suits Sawyer so well! ;-) This is another of hers.

A friend of my daughter did some messing with this and worked out that it's searching for specific words and matching them.

He input a few paras of an Agatha Christie novel, changing the names, and the result was... someone else. When he put the names back in, he got Agatha.

Tried a few other things and decided it matches up specific words.

Ah well, I strongly doubt it's particularly accurate anyway! How come only your friend got a woman (and that by default!)? Whoever invented it obviously has no idea that women novelists exist apart from the lovely Agatha, as I'm sure some of us at least must write more like other women! ;-)

Haha! Love your icon! ;-P
