A choc fish for Lolo!

The cake I decorated for N1D's 11th b'day a couple of weeks back:



And this was bedtime for the Little Blue Penguins, who normally don't come out of their daytime house much when we're visiting the zoo (their nighttime beds are on the other side of the path, so they come out at zoo closing time to cross over after all the people are gone):

Whee! Fantastic! More choc fish! Actually, here's more penguins (if you look carefully, you can see real baby ones, they are smaller and blacker and half-hidden behind the adults - this photo was taken at Kelly Tarlton's here in Auckland too, and these are King Penguins - second largest type of pengy! They also have Gentoo penguins at KT's:

And I'm so glad you like the cake and the penguins too! Just don't get them mixed up! and those are more choc fish around the cake, some solid choc (orange tipped ones), the rest are 'sprats' or baby choc fish as above, marshmallow inside!

You know, I thought the chocolate fish thing was just an expression. LOL! Didn't realize there are 'real' chocolate fish.

The cake! I just adore it! You are so clever and did a super good job. Hope daughter appreciated mom's efforts. Thanks for postng a pic of it.

Thanks muchly also for posting the penguin pics. Emperors are my faves. The little blue fellows really are small. *pets one* I saved the penguin pics too, hope you don't mind. I won't post them, just wanted them for me.

No problems on the penguin pics, I knew you'd enjoy seeing them, and of course it's no problem if you save them! I think the Emperors are beautiful too, but I have a bit of a soft spot for Adelies myself!

Well, I don't know what it is about penguins either, but they are B's fave!

I'm liking the look of that cake. Is the blue icing? It looks sorta like material. It's very good.

thanks, love! No, only the mermaid is cake, i put it on a board with blue tissue paper and then put lollies (sweeties) on the tissue for fish, seaweed and shells!
