haldoor: the road is long, with many a winding turn (deliciously evil)

I did say I'd do this. You have been warned.

Okay, I need to do this. It’s a quick (cue hysterical laughter) rundown of LAST week, which seemed to run by at the speed of knots! It needs recording, for me if no-one else, so don’t go under the cut unless you’re really keen!

Monday

~ Work as usual *yawn*
~ Home at lunchtime, go online for an hour after chores.
~ Collect girls from school.
~ Quiet afternoon (about the only one this week).
~ Watched the pilot episode of ‘Prison Break’ (Does Wentworth Miller know that “Wentworth” was the name of the prison in at least one Aussie soap from the 70’s, or did his mother watch it? Ha!).
~ RP’ing with [livejournal.com profile] therosewilde at the same time as watching TV… working hard on our Vampire fic (which is still not finished, dammit!). Note to self: poke Jack again soon (as if we never speak… HA!).

Tuesday

~ Madness ensues.
~ N1D’s 10th birthday.
~ Work in the morning.
~ Kids out from school at 1.30 pm as its parent/teacher interviews in afternoon/eve.
~ Collect kids, including LF, and head to town, drop girls at Hubby’s work.
~ Take LF to hospital for his 2.45pm orthopaedic clinic check-up (my son has Erb’s palsy in his left arm, has regular check-ups every 6-9 months. Don’t worry, not serious, will explain should anyone want to know more about it).
~ Take 15 mins to find carparking space.
~ Get up to third floor for clinic, immediately get sent back to ground floor for X-rays *sigh*.
~ 6 X-rays taken, two of which were a tricky angle, she wants to redo as they didn’t come out properly. 2nd attempt, no good, we give up on them.
~ Return to 3rd floor and wait (3.30pm).
~ …and wait…
~ …and wait… LF plays with kids on outside playground, we watch Spongebob Squarepants and other cartoons, he plays indoors, we go to toilet, he snacks, plays more.
~ …we are the last of two patients left. The nurse gives both boys a gift, a nice book each, for being so patient. (Apparently there was a bus crash and several teenagers were hurt, requiring two of the four doctors at the clinic to leave to help).
~ the other patient goes first. We are officially LAST. Finally, at 6pm, we are seen (Have texted home to Hubby by now, he had taken girls to their teacher interviews at 5pm).
~ 15 minutes later we leave… *sigh* Actually, it was good news. The doctor is a specialist we have been recommended to see, and she does not think he’ll need surgery. He has good movement in the arm, mostly, just one angle not as good as it might be, for which they MAY consider surgery when he’s 8 or so. YAY! The exercises he has been doing since forever are paying off. Though I’ve always felt bad we don’t do enough! Apparently in some countries, these kids do nothing, and need help with so much more AND surgery. My almost 4 yo is doing pretty much what you’d expect, apart from having trouble getting tops on & off, but hey, he’s only 3 & 11/12ths!
~ Drive home, LF falls asleep in car.
~ Home to find dinner already on the table, yay! Not such a great b’day for N1D, Mum is soooooooooooooooooooo tired, and we don’t have a cake (they bought muffins instead. Only N2D & LF eat theirs, LF after tantrumming his way thru an unwanted shower and settling down enough to eat toast for dinner, not the yummy pasta everyone else was having).
~ We sing ‘Happy Birthday’, at least.
~ Kids finally to bed, late-ish.
~ Nearly fall asleep watching ‘House’.
~ Crawl into bed 9.45pm (historical note: extreme rarity. Alert the media, hasn’t happened for years!).
~ Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wednesday

~ Work is boring as hell! Tried to do some, struggling with someone else’s DAMNED mess. (she’s left now) Decide to kill her if she ever comes back here again.
~ Get home and start afternoon chores.
~ Auntie arrives unexpectedly with b’day gift for N1D. Nice of her, no mistake, but there goes my afternoon plan…
~ Auntie finally leaves, after cups of coffee, a couple of attempts to get onto internet so kids can play games, and dinner being started because if I didn’t…
~ Dinner and baths go according to plan, tho’ a little later than ideal. Kids in bed late-ish AGAIN.
~ Cannot get online, no matter what I do. Reload, reboot, run all virus checks etc, restore computer, etc, all to NO AVAIL.
~ Watch ‘Lost’, trying again on comp. at odd times in ad breaks. Sawyer is lookin’ hot (when is he not, mind you?). He and Ana Lucia do the dirty, and I have to say, I was NOT thinking Ana under him right then (they don’t actually show the deed, natch) *grin*.
~ Try one more time to get online. Give it up as bad joke and worry that my comp is stuffed (altho’ quite clearly everything else is working).
~ Watch ‘Prison Break’ in it’s new regular timeslot. Decide Dominic Purcell has no neck and is not that attractive. Wentworth Miller, however, has definite potential and is very cute. Have been told he is gay.
~ Hubby gets home from work during program. Actually talk to him instead of usual distracted listening I do whilst online *grin*.
~ Go to bed 11ish (Alert media: Sleep times are back to normal).

Thursday

~ Get up and immediately have to go online. Yay! It works! Breathe sigh of relief.
~ Work. Bleh
~ Collect kids from school & kindy, then rush home to do chores & give everyone snacks.
~ Headless chooking ensues. Run N1D to gym, N2D to Brownies. Go home for 20 mins, do quick chores and run out again.
~ Collect N1D early, fight thru rush hour traffic to drop her at wave pool where she is going swimming with Guides, due to being end of term activity night. LF falls asleep in car.
~ Collect N2D, LF wakes up.
~ Go home, cook simple dinner because by this time, who cares? Sausages in bread for me and kids.
~ Get N2D & LF thru baths and into bed. On time. (ish) YAY!
~ N1D is dropped home (thank God for friends!). Takes too long to get through shower and eat, but so what else is new?
~ Online fun with the usual suspects.
~ Finally drag my sorry ass off the ‘net after Hubby is home and we’ve had a cuppa.
~ Go to sleep FAR TOO LATE again. (midnight-ish)*sigh*

Friday

~ Up FAR TOO EARLY as usual (5.30am). Decide I am too old for burning candle at both ends.
~ Work is short and sweet. Bliss. Don’t do much. Have to put up all the baby photos for our work competition (staff all to be guessed from their baby photos) and stuff… I am the only one who knows who they all are! Gets many laughs from the guesses so far.
~ Hubby rings to say “Did you know LF has a physio appointment at 10.30?” Scream. Did not know this. Hubby made appt, did not write on calendar. Not normally a problem as I will be off work, but today I have plans.
~ Hubby says he will see if he can do it. (normally working). He arranges to go in late to work and rings back to say he can take LF. Thank God!
~ Work finishes at 10am! YAY! I love Fridays.
~ Rush to supermarket for last minute party things, then on to home, completely CHILDLESS, woohoo!
~ Throw all rubbish and toys from girls’ bedroom into boxes and containers under bed, some into rubbish bin (God knows why old tissues can’t go straight in there, dammit, N2D!), and change sheets on both beds. Ah… room looks tidy for first time in about 9 weeks (last holidays)
~ Eat lunch and put stuff into party loot bags
~ Hubby & LF arrive, physio went well. Hubby goes to work, LF underfoot. Feed him and turn on dvd to distract him.
~ Ice cakes in the shape of a white bunny rabbit. Takes 1 & ½ hours. Does a 10 yo REALLY want a bunny cake? Apparently so.
~ Do last minute chores, go online to boast about cake to [livejournal.com profile] kaige68. Am proud it worked okay, though not one of my most spectacular cakes.
~ Collect girls from school, have one extra already.
~ Rush around more with last minute stuff for party, wait for other children to arrive. Calm down, all is going fine.
~ Presents dealt with. Feed children, sing Happy Birthday to N1D and cut cake. Kids eat some cake. 1 & ½ hours work mangled in 5 minutes flat… *sigh*
~ Clean up rapidly and organise everyone for pool visit (yes, we are also going to the same wave pool N1D & friends went to last night. Guides could have told me before I arranged this).
~ Go to pools and have fun, apart from almost losing N2D at one point, and slipping in lazy river (bloody cold after spa pool, I might add) in front of another mother (who’s daughters go to school with mine, and just happened to have her kids swimming there) who laughed so hard she almost joined me (she was not swimming). Story will doubtless be exaggerated with other school mothers later.
~ One child collected from pool, only two extras left now. Manage to finally convince all of kids to get out of pool as we need to eat.
~ Go to McDonald’s and spend huge fortune feeding five kids and two adults. No dessert.
~ LF has tantrum because he wants to play and not eat. *sigh* Finally convinced to eat. Eventually everyone finishes and we leave.
~ Have two cars due to numbers and Hubby left first. Need to drop by home to pick up N1D’s friend’s tamagotchi, which she left there, despite the fact we are supposed to be dropping extra girls off on way home.
~ Arrive home before Hubby, and pull into drive thinking his car is in garage already. HUH? How can he get lost so quickly?
~ Get tamagotchi and deliver two girls to their homes about 45 mins later than have advised parents to expect them. No problems though.
~ Return home with girls to hear LF having another tantrum about getting ready for bed. Let Hubby deal with it. Organise girls and finally everyone is quiet. All too tired to stay awake long. YAY!
~ Watch ‘Requiem for a Dream’ on TV… yawning most of the way as so tired, but Jared Leto is very cute in a hat. Those eyes… Yucky, but compelling film.
~ Do NOT go online again, far too bloody exhausted.
~ Go to bed but manage exercise somehow *waggles eyebrows*. About time.
~ Sleep like the dead.

Yes, that was my week. They’re not all like that, thank goodness! And the weekend was much slower and more relaxed, and the weather was even sunny!

Hey, pat yourself on the back if you actually read all of that. I’m impressed. You really didn’t have to. But thanks! *kisses and hugs* of gratitude!

And no, I can't even stick in a picture, as I'm throwing this in at work. SORRY! Maybe later, okay? *kisses again*
